A CONVERSATION WITH CARMEL
A Conversation With Carmel is inspired by the forthright chat Barrowland ballet’s Artistic Director Natasha Gilmore had with her grandmother, a conversation which spanned life, death, family and love from the perspective of one who has lived and has wisdom to impart. This heartfelt and celebratory show explores the dynamics and interactions of the modern extended family, with its laughter, bickering and very embarrassing photos, and questions the roles we all play in it, from newborns to young lovers to old age.
Fusing dance, theatre, music and film, this joyful inter-generational show invites the audience to attend Carmel’s 80th birthday party. A Conversation with Carmel fuses the talents of some of the UK's most exciting artists - choreographer Natasha Gilmore; performers Diana Payne-Myers; Matthew Hawkins; Jade Adamson and Vince Virr; Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison from award-winning Vox Motus; composer Quee McArthur (Shooglenifty) and film-maker Rachel Davies plus an ensemble cast from across the local community.A Conversation with Carmel from Oak's Bark on Vimeo.

ONE UP ONE DOWN
Women under pressure from our high-achieving, must-have consumer culture.
Characters clash as, caught up in their quest for perfection, they sway between reluctant adoration and bitter condemnation of one another. Comic dance theatre, poetry and song deliver this poignant commentary.
Gilmore reunites with Scottish composer, Quee MacArthur of the band Shooglenifty, and introduces the work of Zimbabwean performance poet Tawona Sitholé alongside dance artists Jade Adamson, Tara Hodgson and Vicki Manderson and Michael Sherin.

THE BLANK ALBUM
Live Music, comedy and dance that literally rocks - The Blank Album. Dancers who sing standing on their heads, cellos that dance, and sketch-show guitars, hysterical yet strikingly poetic.
"Packed with catchy tunes and quirky choreography" THE SCOTSMAN
"ALL-SINGING, all dancing - and flamboyantly rock'n'roll with it - The Blank Album is like a mini-music-fest without the mud...but with the kind of swaggering hi-octane choreography that Jagger in his heyday would have lept at." THE HERALD
"Alive. Funny. Passionate. I loved every minute. P.S. I've never enjoyed a dance show IN MY LIFE!" Audience member The Arches
Performed by:
Jade Adamson, Stuart Bowden, Laura Durrent, Simon Jaymes, Ruth Mills.

This comical and surreal duet is a series of tea parties with Bunty and Doris as they journey through childhood imaginary tea parties to the confrontation of old age isolation and death. On Your Marks – October 2007
This piece was commissioned by Glasgow City Council’s Culture and Sport for its tenth annual Inspiration Festival. Gilmore Productions worked with year P6 + 7 pupils from Balornock and Notre Dame primary schools to create a dance piece set at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. Using the physical athleticism of sports movements, and exploring the themes of winning and losing and the dance and musical heritage of those various commonwealth countries, the piece was performed throughout Kelvin Hall Sports Centre, Glasgow – one of the venues for the eventual Games.
Performed at: Site-Specific at Kelvin Hall Sports Centre and Theatre Royal (Glasgow).

Generation X Y Z - August 2007
A commission by East London Dance for their Leap of Faith - over 60s dance company. Inspired by youth sub-cultures from past decades, the disco divas and b-boys came together in this site-specific performance for The Capital Age Festival on the South Bank.
The Capital Age Festival has a varied programme of music, song, dance and workshops featuring older performers representing London's diverse communities. Generation X Y Z has subsequently been performed at various events and festivals across London including Dalston's 'I Love Dance' Festival in September 2007.

In My Day
Integenerational commission by Glasgow City Council (in conjunction with Dance House Glasgow).
To be performed at Platform - The Bridge Easterhouse on 26th March 2008
This project brings together two groups - children from Balornock Primary School and women over 60 from the Germiston Community Centre. Traversing barriers, and sharing experiences, Gilmore Productions explores the commonalities and differences between these groups. The company will create an engaging and original dance piece, using theatre and comedy, based on the work from both groups.
The Welcome Gait
This commission came from a Curriculum for Excellence Project, jointly funded by the Scottish Arts Council and Glasgow City Council’s Education and Social Work Services. The piece was created with pupils from St Mungo's Academy and performed as part of the Curriculum for Excellence Event at The Arches in February 2008. The dance was inspired by The Dalton Fountain at The People's Palace on Glasgow Green and celebrates welcoming visitors to Glasgow.
